F.A.Q

Can this test detect all types of malaria?

It detects 4 major Plasmodium species: P.falciparum, P.vivax, P.malariae, and P.ovale, with differentiation between P.falciparum and other species.

How long does it take to get results?

Total 15 minutes – add buffer at 5 minutes and read final results at 15 minutes. Do not interpret after 20 minutes.

What does a faint Pan or Pf test line mean?

Any visible shade of color in the test line (Pf or Pan) indicates a positive result, as intensity varies with antigen concentration.

How should frozen specimens be handled?

Thaw completely, mix well, and bring to room temperature before testing. Do not freeze and thaw repeatedly.

Can this test be used with anticoagulated blood?

Yes – venipuncture blood collected with EDTA, sodium citrate, potassium oxalate, or sodium heparin is acceptable.

What if the control line does not appear?

The result is invalid. Review the procedure (check specimen volume, buffer addition, and test expiration) and repeat with a new test. If the problem persists, discontinue use and contact the local distributor.
